About Us
The Massapequa Road Runners Club was founded in 1976. We are located on the south shore of Long Island in Nassau County, bordering Amityville, Seaford, Plainedge, and Farmingdale. We have members from all over Long Island and welcome all runners, joggers, and walkers.
We participate in many races throughout Long Island, and runners' abilities range from recreational to highly competitive. As running partners, we motivate one another to achieve our personal goals and share our joy of running and staying fit. We train for 5ks, 10ks, Half and Full Marathons, and Triathlons, and travel near and far to compete. We also host two races annually, the Massapequa Firecracker 5k Run/Walk and the Massapequa Park Mile.
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, we are grateful for the support of our generous race sponsors and dedicated MRR volunteers, who not only allow us to put our races on but, in doing so, help us to fund two annual Massapequa High School Track Scholarships and lend support to the larger running community on Long Island.
Our club holds board meetings on the first Thursday of every month and member meetings semiannually. We host social events such as a spring and fall breakfast, a summer barbecue, and a holiday party, and we host hikes, cleanups, and educational meetings from time to time.
We welcome you to join us. We meet at Brady Park in Massapequa Park most weekends and run on the bicycle path in the scenic Massapequa Preserve at 7:30 am on Saturdays and 8 am on Sundays. We also have destination runs and occasionally meet up with other local running clubs.

Hope to see you in the Park!
